A Sweet Touch to Bread Toast

Not enough time to cook a lavish breakfast in the morning hustle and bustle? Let’s try something quick and easy with these common ingredients, which I am sure you will always find in your household.

Each time I make this dish, it reminds me of my mother. This is something that my mother used to make for me usually as an evening snack. As I have a sweet tooth, I used to grab the last bread slice that my mom makes before anyone gets to see it, wondering why? Because that piece, it used to be extra sweet and tasty with some of the undissolved sugar giving it a caramelized touch. So let’s see how it’s made.


5 slices of White Bread

200 ml Milk

3 tablespoon powdered sugar

1 egg

2 to 3 tablespoon Ghee

Let's Start Cookin'

1. Beat the egg in a bowl using a whisk or fork. Make sure to choose a wide mouth bowl.

2. Add milk and powdered sugar to the beaten egg and mix well.

3. Heat a skillet pan or tawa and spread some ghee on it. Keep it on low or medium flame.

4. Dip the bread slices in the milk & egg batter. Place the bread slices on the tawa and toast it on both sides with ghee.

5. Serve it hot.
